ATT alarm and ATTx receiver sytem

ATT alarm unit.

Although I'm sadly no stranger to completely silent alarms, the idea that the alarm head is designed to remain silent even when indicating a bite is something which takes some getting used to!

The ATT alarm distributed by Gardner is so simple it’s brilliant. A completely waterproof shell, with only one moving part and nothing else to worry about, not even an on/off button! It is a striking design, matt black, (with the option of a coloured roller) and comes with a hard case as standard to both protect the alarm and act as a power activation switch when removed.

The alarms are probably the smallest on the market; at just 63mm high and 33mm wide (approx), they really are compact and take up very little room in the tackle bag, which is great for the angler who likes to take absolutely everything with them .......just in case! Each ATT is finished in soft touch rubberised material to make them easy to handle and prevent scratches or damage to expensive rod blanks.

The electronics within are, as usual, a complete mystery to me; as long as the alarm works then I’m happy with it. I am assured however, for the technically gifted, that the digital circuitry has no moving parts therefore little to fail, and that the transmission components offer unrivalled performance between alarm and receiver; regardless of the ‘magic’ inside I’ve had absolutely no problems with any communication between the two. Every twitch of my bobbin has been registered (I’ve been watching!) and a screaming run makes the vibrating receiver a joy to have in your pocket!!

As I’ve stated, the alarms have no external buttons, switches or knobs which may be a little unusual to many anglers, but it also means less places for the weather to get in and cause failure.
