Had a great 24 hours on Pendle View in Lancashire, only 1 bite which resulted in a cracking 25lbs 1oz carp, but what a venue! Hot showers, clean toilets, hot food to the peg and fish to 47lbs+ on a day ticket!!!!
Fished a tough water for only the second time yesterday; it's a free water with a 41lb common and just 12 other fish to back it up......only 1 fish out all day, 20lbs 7ozs and unfortunately I didn't catch it!
I've had an invite from Pendle View Fishery Dave Harnick to go and have a session to try for some of their big carp (to 46lbs 1oz) so am looking at a trip in August with a mate to see what we can do. find out more about Pendle View at www.pendleviewfishery.com
Went to Horseshoe Lake; what a venue! Caught nothing, but learned an awful lot about fishing in weed and lost a HUGE mirror right at the net after having had it on for 15 minutes..........gutted!
Today spent in preparation to fish Horseshoe Lake tomorrow and Wednesday, new rigs tied, bait air drying.....van fuelled, food sorted, telephone calls made....can't wait!
I visited Commonwood fishery yesterday, just to have a chat with the owner Paul Dunn as I often feature the fishery in my Carp-Talk column and thought it would be good to drop by; what a lovely place! Secure parking, cafe, and carp to 31lbs. more www.commonwoodfishery.co.uk but it's one I hope to fish very soon~!
Off to Welsh Wales tomorrow to do some work for Tackle & Gun magazine....a trip to the seaside is always welcome, fish and chips on the seafront for me and Mrs Walker!
I keep forgetting this blog! Today I've been finalising the ATT review piece for Testcurve, speaking to contacts at the ADB to try to see if any funding is available for coaching qualifications, and contacting other website owners I also submit to in order to clarify commission work. I've got a tv engineer in drilling some noisy holes in a variety of walls, and I'm expecting a big bill for a broken spring on my van.......I'm supposed to be on a day off today!!! I had another delivery from Pallatrax this morning in preparation for my impending Horseshoe trip with Ryan Lippitt so I can't wait to take 'Jungle' bait to the lake side after the recent successes I've had so far....should be good!
Not blogged for a while, been too busy! Been out today to Whaley Bridge in the High Peak south of Manchester and found a cracking little tackle shop called Simpsons; lovely fella running it with loads of local knowledge. I bought a new Maver spinning rod yesterday, can't wait to try it for some plump perch and pike, woohoo! Planning a trip to Horseshoe Lake soon, should be good (if Ryan pulls his finger out!)
Visiting various tackle shops to set up new Pallatrax trade accounts, so if you have a shop, let me know so I can pop in for a chat and show you what Pallatrax has to offer.
